Zateynik *(BJ) is finally taking a break... He has been following Mishka around like her shadow these past few days.

1. Stray cats will not be fed.

2. Stray cats will not be fed anything except dry cat food.

3. Stray cats will not be fed anything except dry cat food moistened with a little milk.

4. Stray cats will not be fed anything except dry cat food moistened with warm milk, yummy treats and leftover fish scraps.

5. Stray cats will not be encouraged to make this house their permanent residence.

6. Stray cats will not be petted, played with or picked up and cuddled unnecessarily.

7. Stray cats that are petted, played with, picked up and cuddled will absolutely not be given a name.

8. Stray cats with or without a name will not be allowed inside the house at any time.

9. Stray cats will not be allowed inside the house except at certain times.

10. Stray cats will not be allowed inside the house except on days ending in "y".

11. Stray cats allowed inside will not be permitted to jump up on or sharpen their claws on the furniture.

12. Stray cats will not be permitted to jump up on, or sharpen claws on the really good furniture.

13. Stray cats will be permitted on all furniture but must sharpen claws on new $114.99 sisal-rope cat-scratching post with three perches.

14. Stray cats will answer the call of nature outdoors in the sand.

When Mila ATTACKS !!

Styrofoam Bowls... Look out !

I feed the kitties soft food every once in a while for a treat, I use styrofoam bowls so I don't have to wash them. Sometimes I forget to throw them away right after the cats are done, and this is where my plan went wrong...

I find bowls all over the house, under the table, in the bedroom, under the chairs, and down the hall, pretty much EVERYWHERE !!

Milakoshka is a little turd ball. She bites and carries these bowls all over. AND makes quite a bit of noise while doing this !! I really hope this is a phase, like maybe she is teething? I hope !

DIE BOWL , DIE !!! Grrrrrrr.

Zateynik - (BJ) gets to play in the snow.

While we were in North Dakota, BJ was whining to go outside. So, I took him out and plopped him into a snow bank, thinking he would hate it...

To my surprise, he loved it, promptly got out of the snow bank, then ran down the sidewalk !

He turned by the garage, when I caught up to him he was rolling around on the snowy cement. When I reached down to grab him, he ran away from me again ! Boy did he get in trouble then, he wanted to run across the parking lot.

I guess the joke was on me ! I let him out in the hopes I would discourage him by the snow and cold, but it did not work at ALL!

Home - There's no place like it

Finally, we are home ! Here are some photos I took in the car on the road. Milakoshka seems very stressed out by the whole ordeal. She slept on my lap the entire trip, 4 1/2 hours each way. Such a good girl !!

This is a shirt in the gift shop at the hospital in Fargo, ND. I almost fell over laughing when I saw this ! I actually did live in Fargo -- I was born there.

Christmas in North Dakota .....

This is how we spent our Christmas... Driving on the cold, desolate roads of North Dakota. We are visiting a family member who has been in the hospital since Dec 11th. He is missing all our gorgeous weather !!!
We hope he will get out soon. He is doing much better today, so that would be our Best Christmas present ever !

The kitties, all 3 of them, drove 4 1/2 hours with us in the car & no problems to report... All went well. They are happy mom and dad brought them with, instead of leaving then at home to fend for themselves for many days. :(

About back to normal ...

Tonight Milakoshka welcomed Mishka back home by giving her a big ..... strangle hold ! Ha, bet you thought I was gonna say HUG ?

Well, in reality they were just laying there together on the floor. I think Mila was trying to get Mishka to play with her. At least the kitties are back to normal. Everyone was running around today playing like Mishka and I where never even gone ! ( what's up with that ? )

I am glad to be home, and wish my step-father a speedy recovery from his surgery on Thursday !

I've been DISSED !

My baby Milakoshka and my boy BJ have Dissed me ! I was away for a family emergency for 5 days, and I am being completely ignored by these two :(

Mishka was lucky enough to come with mommy because she is on a special diet that requires my attention. So BJ and Mila were left at home in my awesome husbands care. But he works during the day, and they have never been alone that much before. Now that I am back, they could care less. :(

My first night home, I had no kitties laying on me in the bed either. I usually have at least two. I hope with lots of love and treats, I will soon be in their good graces again.

Mishka is sleeping because she has a long drive with me tomorrow. We are driving about 4 1/2 hours to be with a family member who is having surgery. Mishka keeps me company in the car. I hope the roads are not too snowy. This might be the last post for a few days.

Awake ( and not dead !! )

Just a quick note to my BLOG readers.... Mila is alive and well. My Husband looked at the previous photos and said she looks dead ( like her neck is broken .) I want all you to know she is very much alive, pouncing and chasing the other cats around as usual. She just likes sleeping in strange places and I happened to catch her with her mouth open. LOL !!

New Man in my Life !

What a handsome face !!

It is almost official !! We are in the process of adding a new member to our family !

We are so excited, this boy is such a lovable ,cuddly sweetheart ! Even though he has been at our house since May 15th,2008, it is nice to know he will soon be a perminent member of our family.

Who Says Cats HATE to Ride in Cars ? : Part 2

Mishka had a vet appointment this afternoon. So we went to the Dr. and afterwards went for a little drive. That way she does not think all car rides lead to the vet. She looks kind of mad, but she is not... It was a gloomy, cloudy day so her eyes are open a little wider than they would be on a sunny day.

She loves riding in the van, especially when she is sleeping & purring on my right shoulder !!

PS: My vet says I have to loose a pound in 30 days. :(

I was looking thru some old photos of Mishka, and saw these photos that are eerily similar to each other. They are so alike, it's kinda scary !!!

I was sitting out on the couch today, in our 3 season porch. Looking at our backyard, which has recently become quite nice. We planted 3 maple trees this year, a wind storm in Sept of 2005 blew all our trees down. So our yard has been kind of bare for a number of years.

And... this year my husband and I FINALLY put up a new fence. The one that was there when we moved in, had to have been at least 30 years old, and was practically falling over. I painted the new one green, so when all the leaves fall off the lilac bushes in front of it, it will still look like they are there. The winter here is quite cold, and green makes me think of spring...

Anyway, I was out on the porch, when Mishka comes out to lay next to me. A few minutes later BJ came out there as well. He jumped up on the couch, walked right over to Mishka, started licking her head, then laid down right beside her.

It was so sweet, I went in the house to get my camera. Here is the photo I took. They are so cute. We are going to try one more time to breed them. I hope the 3rd time's the charm !

We were sad to see her leave, but hope she has gone home pregnant. She and BJ mated a few times while she was at our house.

Who Says Cats HATE to Ride in Cars ??

Every cat I have ever had, has never had a problem riding in cars. Smokey, my 20 year old Siamese mix girl, ( who passed away in Jan 08 ) didn't mind riding in the car. Smokey usually slept in my lap or on the back seat. We also travel 4 1/2 hours to visit family (2 to 6 times per year), she made the trip with us every time. I got all my cats used to riding in the car while they were young, so that might have something to do with why they handle it so well . Now, I have 2 Siberians, & Mishka absolutely loves riding in the car. The only thing that makes it difficult to travel with Mishka is.... that from a very young age she climbed on my right shoulder and went to sleep while in the car. It was really cute when she weighed 3 pounds. She now weighs over 14 pounds and still wants to ride on my shoulder. Kinda hard to drive holding a 14 pound cat !!

I took Mila on a car ride today. She loves to ride in the car as well. She likes all the movement happening out the windows , cars driving by, leaves falling, pretty much everything ...
